    Hot Summer Daaaaay

    这几天越来越热了
    大家都有一个火热的心啊~
    先来说一下楼下的地铁施工情况~马路上造了一幢小房子挡住了路~工人住在马路上哦~
     
    今天准备去学校消灭宅男的
    周五在那里说宅了就控萝莉了变大叔了~现在的宅人啊...(厄...好像没有逻辑)
    不过还是宅了一下和队长回味了阿兹漫画大王...囧啊...
    原来宅了那么容易...
    哦,中午小组聚餐
    哈哈,我们是纯洁而又团结的Creat5ive~大家都好可爱啊~哈哈哈
    桌上狂聊了~HOHO
     
    周六玩了一个下午的哈萨克斯坦...
    恩...哈萨克斯坦果然容易上手,而且人数不限,不错
    请想象一下十二个人一起玩哈萨克斯坦的情景吧...厉害的时候牌还被重复用...
    不过...为什么都针对我呢...一轮里面三个7把我抽死...然后复活抽死复活抽死...
    最厉害的纪录是在一轮里死了五次吧...||-_-
    不过六班聚会就是开心,唱了《看我七十二肉圆》之歌,还不错~
    没有一起吃饭,对不起哈...
     
    这两天很热,不过下午我在的地方都会下些暴雨冰雹之类的
    不错,我喜欢阴晴不定的晴天~

    聚会

    今天是两个聚会当中一天休息日
    来谈一下下
    聚会嘛,大家chatting一下,很开心的
    昨天初中聚会的说,初中我做过什么呢?
    比如说八卦,曾经画过一张带有班级所有同学(几乎)的大型八卦图 那时候真是血雨腥风错综复杂啊,特别有人旁边全是线...
    后来想想还好那时候画过八卦图,后来工程课画Concept Map才那么得心应手~恩,果然那时候很明智(明智么?囧)
    现在八卦功力貌似退化很多了...哎....不过还是少八卦些好~恩恩
    初中还是有很多故事的,比如说东方绿洲啊,肉圆被扔出去啊(非高中的肉圆,声明),别人的一堆绰号啊
    我初中果然纯洁~绰号都很少~ 单纯啊~~最近看了初中的照片,我就是一个小~
    昨天玩的国王游戏也很猥琐,比如两个人玩69式之类的...
    经验丰富的赵老师上课很囧,还好没听~~~
    顾同学走上了音乐的道路(还是薛之谦德好朋友,汗)唱死了都要爱喊都不要喊假声都不用自然而然上去了...
    后来升了两个Key都行...不愧是专业艺人了........
     
    今早顺利乘上校车~撒花~毕竟一年没有七点不到就起来了,真有高三的感觉~~~
    带着墨镜进教室被强烈XX了..T_T
    中午坐校车回来大食代吃了好多...撑了...>_<
    做好暑假准备,准备好带度数的游泳眼镜太阳眼镜之类的,顺便好好休息~

    过一个安定团结的暑假

    昨天貌似有更新的
    不过又想说的就再写了
    学习M,cos钱文强,让自己分裂来写这篇文章
    就当自己和自己的聊天记录吧(Lara别说我BT就好)

    木:彻底走读了,但是在家里没状态学习
    梁:其实去学校你也不会好好学习,还是在泡网络
         家里网络看土豆还不卡,还有驴子
    木:有个Idea,过一下一切退回到10年前的状态
         时间倒回到10年前,97年暑假我应该升四年级
         那时候每天都6点起来游泳,晚上9点睡觉,真的一个healthy啊
    梁:不过转念一想,10年前我们的Calculus还没有这个版本吧,这样就不能好好学习了
    木:是啊...
    梁:所以,还是先上上网玩玩,写写Space,留留言
    木:貌似我在别的地方留言留太多了,有人都有意见了...

    About Suicide
    本来不想在这里提这件事的
    但是...没想到他的父亲是我爸很好的朋友...哎...
    真的很感叹啊
    昨天爸爸沉重的回来的...很多事情都很出乎我的意料吧
    也是推翻了我的很多设想
    毕竟这家家庭条件很好,也不愁出路什么的...
    也让我很疑惑了...
    昨天后来也说了很多尊重生命的事吧
    反正,恩,遇上挫折绝对不寻死!

    昨天和大学同学出去玩了
    哈哈,和室友两个人在KTV喊啊喊的...
    大家捂住耳朵就说明我们成功了~哈

    Nominal Vacation Staaaaaaart!!!!

    曼昆老先生教育我们,什么东西都有Real(实际)和Nominal(名义)之分
    Ok~下周开始Nominal的vacation了~
    周一三五上课,还是不能阻止玩心大动的我哈~~啊哈哈哈~
     
    终于周周考在一个半月以后结束了
    下下周和下下下下周数学考完就军训了~
    终于....
     
    这两天被Daida和Mankiw害得好惨啊~
    满脑子都是generative, reactive, responsive system啊,price level, inflaction, interest rate之类的~
    哦hohoho生活美好啊
    昨天和藏民两个人在那里推导...利率升高带来了物价水平的...汇率的...税率的...就业率的...
    推着推着就争起来了...各自有这各自的经济模型还都很有道理...烦人啊...
    记得考经济前满楼惨叫声~~~
    经济原来还有一个作用哦~就是让人崩溃~恩恩
    “大长今绝对是研究皇家银行怎么通过食物变化来调整短期经济”
     
    回家发现老爸送了我很多地图

    两天更新一次的频率还是要保持~

    恩~
    明后天就要考试了...But...
    用旅游卫视的话说“身未动,心已远”
    心已经放假啦~
     
    恩,这两天努力筹划聚会的呢~
    下周一和大学的
    下周二是初中第一个班的
    下周三可能带下两届的学妹参观交大~
    下周六就是狼群了~
    还是要在日二四赶到学校住一晚上课的(我不准备翘微积分的~哈哈)
     
    哎...还是要复习的
    昨天用了一天看工程导...But...
    看了样卷都做不来||-_-
    好吧...还有经济的说~小宇宙再爆发一次吧~
     
    昨天听到有人跳楼了
    人是很健康的男人,重75Kg...But...
    毕业论文没过...大四了...哎...就在机械楼...

    放假了学校里咋还是很多人呢?

    交大放假了咯(啊,又搞得我们不是交大的了)
    本来觉得今天到学校应该除了我们学院看不到别人的
    不过还是看到很多别的院的人的~有垫被的就好开心啊
     
    哈哈,不过作为201班的恋家小王子~要开始逐渐进行走读生活啦
     
    本来周末想买台苹果本本的,不过去了百思买,Macbook还是让我有些小失望...没有想象中的好啊~~
    ~算了~以后再说~
    呵呵,小黑还能跑一阵的~(不过我应该再也不会买小黑了,自从Thinkpad变成Lenovo之后)
     
    厄~学习上么~不想读书了
    就想着聚会啊!!!!
    不过本周还有两个考试T_T

    好了,Final Report之后的周末

    We...

    这是Introduction to Engineering的口号,Final Report写完了,快结课了
     
     
    昨晚吃饭,10点多回到家,等YQ
    Final Report是两点做完的
    虽然说比起一些通宵的组而言是不算很晚~也算是我班五组里第一个
    不过也算第一次做作业到那么晚了
    然后看了一会儿Ayumi2006的巡回演唱会,睡了
     
    Final Report是一项艰巨的任务,目标五十几页,曾经一直去想着怎样分配任务
    最后总觉得会有问题,分配了第一项任务试试看
    等到收回“作业”的时候发现的确与我预想的有些偏差,决定剩下的自己做,只是给组员片断的Order
    减少重复和Deadweight Loss
    周一一个晚上,周四一天,把所有东西一个人剪辑掉~
    周五给YQ审稿子
     
    有时候自己把Team的事情全包了觉得有些不值
    但是有些事情不是自己做觉得不放心
    也许将来的工作狂就是这样了
    以后还是要学会更充分的Division,毕竟别人不是傻子

    虽然一开始我一直考虑拆组的
    其实还是不拆组的好~好歹我们机器人算个“奇迹”,Oral的分数也很赞啦~~

    Redesign of the Project Room, 4th floor, Law School Building

    1.    GENERAL INTRODUCTION

    This section will mainly give you a general introduction to our project. It will briefly discuss the background of the project room, our motivation of the project, some current problems and our proposed solutions.

     

    1.1         The Project Room

    The project room is located on the 4th floor, law school building. Now it is mainly used for students in Joint Institute to do projects. Students had team discussions during the process. Most of the projects in lectures such as Dynamic Team Building and Introduction to Engineering are finished in this project room. The project room is defined as a room in which students can finish their projects, get inspiration, and widen their knowledge as well.

     

    1.2         Motivation

    The project room was originally designed to be the law library and solely to satisfy the demand of law school students. However, since Joint Institute was assigned part of this building at the beginning of last semester, the institute gained access to the project room. Students from Joint Institute have met many problems such as improper arrangement while doing some former projects within this room, because the room was not originally designed for them. That’s why our team has decided to redesign the project room.

    After analyzing the current condition of the project room, we have found that only providing a better place to do projects is not adequate for the JI students’ requirement. Thus the main goal of our redesign of the project room is to offer a multifunctional place for not only doing projects, which meet the demand of both JI students and professors.

     

    1.3         Problems

    According to our result of survey and observation, we found that there were some problems in the project area. For example, many students complained about the excrescent tables and space that was not used efficiently, making the room not capacious enough for students to do projects. The teaching assistants also felt that it was always uneasy for them to walk through the tables in project area. What’s more, there is no proper place to evaluate and display the products. Some of the students also mentioned the poor air conditioner and the boring environment. Furthermore, the wireless connection, which plays a vital role, is very weak in the project room. We decided to resolve many of these problems.

     

    1.4         Cooperation

    We are collaborating with team Tekraft. We two teams decided to hold the interviews and surveys together. In the design part, we divided the whole project room into two parts, in order to avoid overlapping. The eastern half of the project room will be designed by us, and the western part will be designed by team Tekraft.

    1.5         Solution

    We plan to divide the part of the room we are supposed to redesign into several sections: the Evaluation Area, the Display Area and the Project Area I&II. In the Evaluation Area, which is initially created by us, the professors can just put their laptop on the work tables and stay beside the evaluation desk to evaluate all the products quickly. The Display Area, which will be located in the center of the room, is capable to exhibit many excellent products. We plan to arrange this area in the most efficient way, so that those brilliant products will easily appeals to everyone. In the Project Area, we will move some tables away, and rearrange it in a proper order. Thus the budget is saved and it provides a more comfortable environment for projects.

    In addition, we will hide the electric wires under the floor to eliminate the disorder of wires, and prevent students from tripping over it. Moreover, we plan to add several speakers to the room. Finally, we propose to put some potted plants to improve the environment and make the room more colorful.

     

    2.    BACKGROUND

    This part mainly talks about the background of the project room and the reasons why these problems arise.

     

    2.1         Usage of Project Room

    At present, the project room is mainly used for two classes: Vx101 Dynamic Team Building, Vg100 Introduction to Engineering. And in the future, it might be used for other classes such as Fundamentals of Electric Circuits and University Physics. Students from Joint Institute have built towers and made robots as their projects. During the process of their projects, students usually hold panel discussions, exchange their ideas and get inspiration in this room. In the lab time of Vg100 class, they also did a simulation. The project room is supposed to be capable of various kinds of projects and simulations, so our redesign needs to be adaptted to those different requirements.

     

    2.2         Current Layout of Project Room

    The project room was mainly composed of two parts and those two sections were separated by the center area which was covered by glass. Now the eastern part, which would be designed by our team, is a place mainly for doing projects. However, there are now too many tables in this area, so it makes the room more crowded. Since the number of students attending the class in the project room is limited to about 100, there are a large number of waste tables. Additionally, there is no place designed for the professors and lecturers to put their laptops, they can only placed them on a normal table. What’s more, we can’t hear the words of the lecturer clearly due to the absence of loudspeaker. Though there is a white board in the room, students who don’t sit beside it are not able to read the sentences on it clearly. Also, the electric wires that connect every desk are all in a mess. In the western part, the paper towers are lying on the floor, and the remained space in that part is almost empty.

     

    2.3         Why Problems Arise

    Currently, there exists lots of problems.

    First of all, there is no proper space in the project room for JI students to evaluate all the works at the same time. For example, the robots students made in Engineering 100 class were evaluated in separated places. Doctor Daida and teaching assistants came to different desks to evaluate every single robot made by various teams. This evaluating process is admittedly not very efficient and quite inconvenient for students, professors and teaching assistants.

    Till nowthe so-called display area is totally in a mess. The products that students created long time ago, for instance, the different kinds of towels built in Dynamic Team Building class, and the little robots made in Engineering 100 class, are put on the ground at a venture. What’s worse, some of the products has even been demolished. Because the current “display area” is in a mess, nearly no one realizes to appreciate those products, even if some of them are excellent. Actually people can learn a lot from the brilliant products. While appreciating the products, they can figure out the producers’ original ideas and the way they cope with problems. However, currently there is no proper area to place the products and the so-called display area is extremely lacking of arrangement.

    In addition, the number of tables exceeds the number which is required for a project. Thus some of the tables are useless while others are overcrowded. The electric wires also make the area more congested than we could expect.

    These problems can trace the source partly to the construction of the project room. There are ten columns in the center of the project area, which makes the arrangement of the tables more complex, and the path narrower.

     

    3.    METHODS AND PROCEDURES

    3.1         Design Constraints

    Because the eastern part of the project room is limited, the space for us to design is also limited. We can’t expand the area. Also, we should meet the needs of Joint Institute. One hundred people can do their projects at the same time within this area. Although we have a budget of no limit, we must provide a multifunctional area in the project room. In addition, we should notice that we have to add other functions to the project room, besides maintaining the function of the project area.  

    3.3         Surveys

     Because the customer of our redesign of the project room is mainly students and teachers in Joint Institute, we should know what they exactly think about the existing conditions and what they really want the project room to be. According to the survey, a majority of students thought the project room was poor. Most of them complained about the poor air condition and audio equipments in the room. The overall arrangement was also concerned by lots of students. Most students want comfortable environment and the function of providing a place for doing projects was most wanted by students. 

    3.4         Observations and Measurements

      To get the precise design, we made very careful measurement of the project room, which is showed in the following picture.

    First we should know the detailed situation of the project area.

    The length of the project area is 31.37 meters and the width of the room is 10.37 meters. The size of the present tables is 160cm×80cm. There are ten big columns distributed averagely in the projects. The distance between the columns and the longer side of the room is 1.76 meters, and the distance between the columns and the shorter side of the room is 1.6m. The distance between two pillars is 6.37m. The size of the pillar is 80cm×80cm. The central part of the eastern room is designed to be the evaluation area.

    In the middle of the project room, it’s a problem that there exists an area which is much higher than the other part of the floor, having a proportion of 1.905 m2 (1.27m ×1.5m). However, it’s at the same level as the iron edge. It means that this level represents the highest plane of this part.

     

    4.    DETAILED DESIGN

    This part mainly introduce our design in detail

     

    4.1         Division of Our Project Design

    For a better cooperation and a better project division in our team, we divided our area of design into several sections.

    First is the Evaluation Area, which is located in the center of our design area. It is used to evaluate the models. The next is the Display Area, which is placed in the middle of the project room. It is for showing students’ best projects and products. The third part is the Project Area, which is located beside the Display Area. Students could finish their projects there

    4.2         Evaluation Area

    We decided to add an Evaluation Area to the project room in our redesign.

    From the map of the project room we can see that the Evaluation Area is located just between the two project areas, right in the middle of the part of the room our team is in charge of. We decided to make it here because this location gives equal access to students in both project areas.

     

    4.2.1   Preparation Desk

    First of all, we would change the square column in the Evaluation Area into a cylinder, by adding concrete outside the column and make it a round shape. So the square column would be replaced by a larger rounded one. The original width of the column is 0.6m. The diameter of the cylinder would be 0.9m. So the volume of concrete would be 6.55 m3.

    What’s more, we would add a round table which is special-shaped around the column. It would be used temporarily to place the works that are to be evaluated. For instance, when there are ten works to be evaluated and the Evaluation Area is only capable for five works to be evaluated at the same time, the other five will be placed on this table, waiting till the evaluation ends. This table would also be used in particular evaluation when loop is needed. If we were going to make another robot which is required to move on the table in a circle, this table would probably be suitable for the evaluation. The inner diameter of the table, which equals to the diameter of the round column, would be 0.9m. The outer diameter of the table would be 3m. The price of this table is about 2980RMB.

     

    4.2.2   Evaluation Desk

    A long table with some scales on it is stretching out from the round table towards the display area. This table is the main evaluation place. The scales on the table could, to some extent, help with the measurement in the evaluation. The evaluation table can be used to measure the distance the robot moves, and the height and length of the towers built in the dynamic building class as well. The length of the table would be 4m. The width would be 1.5m. The price of the table is about 2046RMB

     

    4.2.3   Work Table

    Two separated tables would be placed beside the round table. They are located on each side near the two project areas, vertical to the evaluation table. Professors and Teaching Assistants could put their computers and notebooks on the two tables to help them complete the evaluation. We are planning to use two current tables in the project room because the project area would decrease the number of tables and the width, length and height of those tables satisfy our demand. The budget could also be saved by using current resources.

     

    4.3         Display Area

    The room is not very big. In order to make the most of the space, we decide to use the central part. Now, under this project room is the library of Law School Building and there are stairways that used to connect these two rooms. Because these stairways are locked, we think we can use the ceiling of their library, that is, the central part of our floor. This part has a total area of 18.765 m2.

    We came up with an idea that we can put those products on this area orderly so it’s easy for people to overlook and appreciate them. For students to put their products at this place, the easiest way is walking inside and standing on this area. Now, the floor is made of plastic and people can’t stand on it, not to say walking. That’s why we decide to replace this plastic material with toughened glass, which can support even two or three people’s weight. The toughened glass we choose has a thickness of 12mm, and the price of it is 110RMB/m2.

    In addition, there exists an area which is much higher than the other part of the floor, so we plan to raise the height of the lower floor to this level to make the whole floor be in the same plane. By doing so, it would be much easier to install the toughened glass and enlarge the actual usable area for display.

    At present, around this area is a circle of iron handrails. These handrails are bounded so people can’t get in. However, we can’t make a gap there all the time. It will be insecure and not convenient if we make a design like that. According to this situation, we make the decision to change a small part of the balusters into a small door. If we want to get into this area, we open the door. If we don’t need to enter this area, we can lock it so the handrails will come back as a whole.

     

    4.4         Project Area

    We can only use the two sides of the eastern part of the project room to be the Project Area. The project area is designed for about one hundred people to do some projects or have a team discussion, so we need twenty tables in all and each table is for a five-people team. The tables are designed to be symmetric about the evaluation area. On each side we will put ten tables. Because the width of the room is much shorter than the length, the direction of tables must be the same as the original ones. In this way, space can be used efficiently and effectively, and students would have the feeling that it’s capacious enough. We only fixed the position of these tables when we have a project for teams each consists of about five members. If we want to have a larger team discussion, we can easily put several tables together.

    4.5         Other Design

    4.5.1   Wires

    Currently, the electric wires are all in a mess. We decided to bury it under the ground, so the room can be cleaner and tidier. We decided to arrange the electric wires in this way, as showed in the picture 4-5-1.

    The Red Line stands for the main line. The Blue Line represents the minor line. And we may add about 30 electrical outlets along the line. After the arrangements, every table would get access to the electricity. And since we have arranged the line throughout the room, if some of the tables were moved to another place temporarily, it can also get access to the electricity.

     

    4.5.2   Speakers

      We propose to add six speakers around the project room. All the speakers would be hung on the columns. We can hide the wires of the speakers inside the column. After placing the speakers, every position in the room could hear what the professors say clearly. This solves the problem of the poor audio equipments, which is mostly concerned by students.

     

    4.5.3   Others

      In order to add some relaxing atmosphere to the project room, we plan to put some potted plants in the corners of the project area. The plants not only provide a more relaxed atmosphere, but also improve the environment and make the room more colorful.

      The problem of the poor wireless connection will be solved by team Tekraft. They plan to add a wireless router in the western part of the room, so that every place in the room can have access to the internet.

    考试三连击之第二日

    本周有考试三连击滴~~~
    昨日是微积分一测,今天物理二测了~~
    等会儿就要写Final Report去了~计划56页,现在已经完成40页了~再改改加加就行了~~~
    小宇宙爆发吧~哈哈~
     
    物理结课了~庆祝一下

    恩~终于在这学期摆脱他了~~下学期物理貌似是一个中国人教(选课网上这样写的)~啦啦啦~
    H版的物理和数学终于能远离我们了~~

    离光明还有一周了

    下周还有三门连着的考试和一个大概三四十页的一个Final Report了~
    接下来就Finish了~
    再下周嘛~就两门考试了~
    再再下周经济学就结课了~
    接下来...那时候其实已经八月了
    一周就三节课了,微积分3
    总结一下:20周以后一切都空了(本周为19周)
    虽然没有暑假,但是嘛~其实还是很空的~
    不过再怎么说也是没有暑假~~大家尽情地鄙视我吧~~~
     
    这礼拜还是蛮无聊的~回家了两三天~哎...
    一般在寝室就克制不住开始看热带雨林的暴笑生活(强烈推荐啊~~~)
    结果现在只剩两三集了~
    果然有空调的时候就舒服嘛~天真的很热啊...
    下下周等交大学生都放了我们就可以一直开空调了(说得我们不像交大学生一样的)
     
    下周还是蛮忙的~恩~~

    昨晚自修回来
    看到一群大四的学长喝饱了酒在兜寝室
    在楼下喊“交大电院世界一流”“学长嘱咐你们好好混”之类的
    说起来毕业真是感伤啊...啊...
    还有...突然想起来就这样在大学呆了一年了,现在已经是学长了||-_-
    学长啊...怎么给人的感觉就是很老了呢...
    这几年是学长将来就是大叔了....
    时间过得真快啊
    说起来几年后的今天就要工作了~囧
